Opening day of Crisp at The Marlborough, Mayfair’s pub under new management, came with a hectic three hour wait. Whilst the pizza tastes great – I, like many true Londoners, don’t have three to five hours a day to twiddle my thumbs waiting in a queue.

Olympia’s cultural landmark plans unveiled

This time with a £1.3bn transformation. On top of the usual event space, the cultural landmark will host a new live music venue, theatre, over 25 new restaurants/bars, two on-site hotels and 550,000 sq ft of flexible office space for creative industries. Opening in 2026 and with plenty of more PR surprises under their sleeve.

First opened in 1757 and the oldest chophouse in London, the tavern has been unloved for three years — until now. The team behind Cloth are planning to revive this little pocket suspended in time into a dining spot shaped around chops and steaks. Cloth has had quite some exciting press and feedback this year, so in good hands it is.

This is the first ever opening across the channel for Copains — a popular French bakery who specialise in gluten-free breads and Viennoiserie. Now it’s coming to Covent Garden (and eventually Islington, too) offering sweet and savoury baked goods. The brand is known for their slick, polished and contemporary stores — un match parfait à Londres.

Tom Geoffrey’s (Kiln) Cambodian-inspired project has achieved its next milestone after a round of pop-ups to a six month residency above Borough Market’s Globe Tavern. Geoffrey’s spent eight years developing a contemporary, fire-led take on the cuisine built for sharing — picture scallop with tamarind brown butter or khmer hot-honey quail.
